I recently found a dress in my closet that I loved a few years ago. But now it was too big for me, plus the length doesn't seem so good anymore. I decided not to throw it away, but to try to remake it. I took it to an atelier, where it was slightly sewn in the waist and shortened, making a modern cut. Honestly, the result surprised me - the dress looks like a new one! Now I'm thinking that maybe other things in the closet can be altered as well. Has anyone else done this? What alterations to a dress can give it a second life?

Interesting topic! I never thought before that a dress or other clothes can be so dramatically altered. Although, if you think about it, many suits or pants are adjusted to the figure, so why not do the same with dresses? In general, it seems that before parting with things, it is worth at least considering the option of adjusting them.
I know what you mean! I had a similar story - I bought a dress at a discount, but at home I realized that it didn't fit the way I wanted it to. I didn't want to return it, so I decided to have it altered. I contacted Dress Alterations, where they made it a little more fitted, shortened the hem and removed unnecessary decorative elements. As a result, the dress fit my style perfectly, and no one even guessed that it was different! I think if you like something, you can always adapt it to suit you instead of looking for a new one.
